British Council funding

You can find a very good guide to Sources of Funding for International Students at http://www.britishcouncil.org
  1. This leaflet is produced by the British Council, the Council for International Education (UKCOSA) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

  2. Please note:

    1. - Not all the awards listed will be available to every student.
    2. - There is no funding available from the British Council in the UK for international students.
    3. - It is very rare that funding is awarded for undergraduate study in the UK.

To apply for British Council funding the student should apply to the office in the home country as a resident of that country.

If the British Council does not have an office in the relevant home country, the student is not eligible for British Council funding. They should then contact the British Embassy or High Commission in the relevant country as they may be able to help further.
